The snow is still here! I was going to try out my new electric hoe, but the ground is still under a foot of snow.

Did some jobs, anyway:

• Put last year’s tomato stalks in compost bin 5
• Put two bags of compost from last year’s squashes into bin 1

• Completely turned compost bins 1 and 4.

  I think it’s looking pretty good, considering it’s all just boxes, carrot peelings and hedge trimmings!

  

• Cleaned out the polytunnel a bit. Believe it or not, this is the “after” photo. Early days!

  

• Lightly weeded the strawberry bed. I didn’t want to leave any soil uncovered as it’s still going to freeze, and snow, for a few months, but I got some unwelcome weeds out and made sure the whole thing wasn’t snagging.

  

Then I retreated indoors and went through my exciting new seed stash!
